Course Description: This four-session TEAS Test Review Course is designed to help students prepare effectively for the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). The course will cover key content areas including Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English Language Usage, with an emphasis on test-taking strategies and practice exams. Through a combination of lectures, interactive activities, and practice tests, students will enhance their understanding of essential concepts, improve their problem-solving skills, and build confidence for the TEAS exam. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to achieve their desired scores.

​GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

• Understand the TEAS Test Format: Describe the structure and components of the TEAS exam, including the types of questions and time constraints.

• Master Key Content Areas:

  • Reading: Analyze and interpret various texts, identify main ideas, and apply critical thinking skills to comprehension questions.

  • Mathematics: Solve mathematical problems involving arithmetic, algebra, and data interpretation with an emphasis on practical applications.

  • Science: Explain fundamental concepts in life science, physical science, and scientific reasoning, and apply these concepts to real-world scenarios.

  • English Language Usage: Demonstrate proficiency in grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure, and apply these skills in writing and language comprehension tasks.

• Develop Test-Taking Strategies: Identify and implement effective strategies for approaching different types of questions on the TEAS exam.

• Utilize Practice Resources: Complete practice tests and exercises to identify strengths and weaknesses and develop personalized study plans based on results.

• Build Confidence and Reduce Anxiety: Engage in activities that foster a positive mindset and coping strategies to manage test-related stress.​

Course Expectations: It is imperative that you study outside of the review sessions. Preparation and attendance at all review sessions is essential. Even if you are comfortable with the session or information – your attendance and engagement will increase your confidence to successfully perform on the exam.
